Nice site, lots of research and work there. I am just starting out, If all the links are right, Arthur of Totnes, near the Ivy bridge (or did they mean Ivybridge) Devon, England is my 8th great-grandfather. Early settlers of Ipswich MA. Mentioned in an old book of George Abbott of Rowley/Andover MA. Don't know if any connection exist. Lots of Abbotts from the Devon area of England. And so few first names. Regards, Wayne D. Hello again... I will tune in for sure!
I misspelled my Grandmother's name. Sorry about that. It is Addie Lucinda Olden. I am living in Spokane Valley, Washington. Originally born and raised in Northern California. My Addie was from Minnesota (born 1880) and moved to Jackson county, Kansas when very young. She married Nathaniel Butler Spencer, and moved to Brawley, California around the turn of the century, where my mother was born.(1913) I had no idea the Abbots were such a distinguished family. I love doing genealogy and finding new family members. Too bad I can't come to the UK and meet you. I have always loved to travel, but funds are a little low...How did you end up there? I forwarded your web site to my brother, Leslie Howard Stevens, and he may have some questions... Thank you again. I can tell your labors were from love. This is way too much work to do it for any other reason! Your cuz.... Linda Hello...
I found your web site for the Abbot family, and I just wanted to thank you for all your hard work. I am also descended from the Abbots through my maternal grandmother, Addie Olde Spencer. We are through George Abbot and Hannah Chandler, then Timothy Abbot and Hannah Graves, then Hannah Abbot and Abiel Holt. I am thrilled to learn so much info, and history.... I will keep digging... If you have any questions about my further line to Addie I will be happy to provide it. Once again... Thank you! |
