Hello My name is Leslie (Abbott) Scott.I have been a fan of your website for about 2 years.I've told some of my cousins about this site. You and I are related but we seperated with William's son Paul being your ancestor and his brother Phillip being my ancestor. The Abbott branch I am from is Stephen Joseph Abbott that came west. He died while trying to obtain provisions for his family while he would be gone on his mission for the church. Leaving a wife and 8 children in Nauvoo, il. When he died on Oct. 19, 1843 his wife Abigail (Smith) Abbott took control. There was sickness for 9 months but with 1 1/2 acres to work and other jobs they did they were able to head west July 6, 1849. They walked for 4 months til they arrived in Salt Lake City on Oct. 26, 1849. They tended to have large families once they settled in Utah.. My dad Dean K. Abbott came from a family of 10. All his aunts and uncles had large broods too.Alot of people in my family do genealogy. It was so great when I typed George Abbott Genealogy your website came up.Our family has a family book that goes all the way back to George. Some of my aunts and uncles put it together. It has family sheets, pictures and stories. On some of our sheets we have different dates or some dates you don't have . Also the same with some spouses names. I can't remember off the top of my head. I just wanted to tell you how much I love your site. It's funny that when I saw that picture of you by the grave marker you looked so much like my older brother Doug.It gave me a warm feeling almost comforting to know family traits do carry on. You have lots of relatives in Utah, Nevada (like my family) really anywhere out west. I'm sorry to ramble on .I'm not good with computers hence I'm using my sister's .Hopefully some of this makes sense to you. If you wish to contact us just use my sister's E-mail address.
