Scotty's Clip
Scotty McCreery: He won American Idol 2011 (talking about "And I Witheld The Rain From You", the inspiration for my gospel song by the same name, Amos 4:7). During his homecoming trip, he was scheduled to give a concert in his hometown, however, it had been raining and rain was predicted to continue....until he hit the stage, the rain stopped and he quotes a Bible verse that he randomly came upon that talks about the change in weather that he had prayed for.
"And I Also Witheld The Rain From You"
You know times can be rough,
You know times can be tough.
Sometimes you feel a lot of pain, it’s true,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
Each day kneel and say a prayer to God,
He will help you through all those days that are hard.
God loves you and me, you know it’s true,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
You can always change that road you’re on,
He will show you the way to the great beyond.
Pay homage to Him in all that you do,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
Your life needs some rearranging,
Everything’s out of control, time quickly fading.
Never lose sight of your dreams, always keep them in view,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
It’s never too late to believe and get into heaven,
Check out John 11, verses 25 to 27.
Visit a church, say a prayer in the pew,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
Life passes in the blink of an eye,
Like sand in the hour glass steadily flowing by.
Our world has many beautiful hues,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
You will be judged by how your life,
May you experience much beauty and minimal strife.
Put your past behind and begin anew,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
Avoid obfuscation and derision,
Pray to God for a clearer vision.
Hold Him close to your heart, always in view,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
Thank God for all He has blessed you with,
His son died for all our sins, and that’s no myth.
Do what you love, and love what you do,
And I also withheld the rain from you.
You know times can be rough,
You know times can be tough.
Sometimes you feel a lot of pain, it’s true,
And I also withheld the rain from you.

I was thinking about you when I wrote this song
You are in my thoughts and prayers
God Bless You!
Bible verse quoted in my song:
John Chapter 11, Verses 25-27: "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" She said to him: "Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world."
